!!!COST-CUTTINGS!!!
Due to the ADA rate development and the still low number of delegators, we were forced to introduce cost-cutting measures. We will therefore be shutting down our test environment, but are considering running a test environment again in the future as development improves, as we are convinced that this will make an important contribution to the further development of Cardano.
However, it was more important for us to maintain and finance our social activities in El Salvador instead.

We Upgraded Our Pool SOL_1 on December 12th 2022 to Version 1.35.4 which improves possibilities for Cross Chain Development and dApps.

On June 27th we did the update on Testnet (Ticker: WPo), so that we can contribute to the testing of the vasil hardfork.

In Epoch 346 we were block leader for the 4th time. Because probability for being a block leader in a certain epoch is at 0.09 the rewards are at 1111% for all our delegators.

Since June ’22 SOLyDAR and all of our delegators are helping Girls and Boys in El Salvador with an amount of 31€/month. That makes 372€/year. For more information click here.

On April 16th we did the update on mainnet after having tested it on testnet (Ticker: WPo) for a few weeks with several successfull block adoptions.

About the Pool
Unfortunately we had to retire the SOLyDAR staking pool. There are plenty of reasons. But the halved fixed fee has finished us off. Another change that plays into the hands of the big pools.
Although we used 100% renewable energy and supported charitable projects, we were unable to attract enough delegators. Unfortunately, the support we had hoped for from the CF also failed to materialize.
You might say that our pool was very small…
but in terms of your rewards, it doesn’t really matter how big the pool is.
Our mainnet pool SOLyDAR_1 [SOL_1] consisted of:
- 1 Node, 2 Relays each with
- 4 CPU Cores AMD EPYC™ 7702
- 16 GB RAM
- 320 GB SSD
- Block propagation: 98% within 5s

low impact on the Environment
There are many reasons, why we had chosen to support the Cardano-DLT-network.
A low impact on the environment is very important for us that is why:
- Our servers were running with 100% green electricity and energy saving technologies
→ hostet by:
- Our computers were running with 100% green electricity
- We had chosen a sustainable bank for our business (GLS Bank)
- We supported (and will continue to do so with private funds) social and ecological projects in El Salvador and Bavaria
Social and Ecological Projects
We aimed to use at least 50% of the profits of the SOLyDAR CS UG for the benefit of ecological and social projects in El Salvador and Bavaria.
We supported the following projects:
Projects 2022:
1. In June 2022 we started to support a boy in El Salvador and girls projects with a total of 32 Euro/month. Our partner for this is Plan International. This payment will go on in 2023 and even after the retirement of the SOLyDAR staking pool.
2. We supported an event for poor children with 100 Euro.
El Salvador
El Salvador
El Salvador is a very small, but diverse country in Central America (Pacific) with about 6.8M inhabitants. In El Salvador there are volcanoes, lakes and beautiful beaches, some of them famous for surfing.
Among the people there are some who have a lot and many who have very little. This is one of the reasons why it is a country with a lot of crime, but the majority of Salvadorans are exceptionally friendly, helpful and cheerful.
For our first project in El Salvador, which we started to support in June 2022 we have chosen Plan International as a long-term partner. At the moment we help a boy from El Salvador (28€/month) and additionally support girls projects (3€/month).
San Pedro Nonualco
We supported children who live in very poor conditions in the area around San Pedro Nonualco with 100 Euro.
Every year on January 1st, our friends are organizing a big event for these children, where they get food, school supplies, toys and other things they are lacking.
The party is framed with music, games and other entertainment. In 2019 we attended the party ourselves and it was heartbreaking to see the joy in the children’s faces. The 1st of January 2023 we sponsered this event with 100 Euro.
Bavaria
Bavaria
Bavaria is a federal state in the south of Germany and the place where we live and work.
The main aspects of the nature conservation activities supported are the rewetting of peatlands, the promotion of extensive use on species-rich areas and mediation in conflicts of interest between agriculture and nature conservation. Depending on the amount of the rewards, the following projects are possible:
- Donations to the Bund Naturschutz e.V. in the area of Rosenheim
- Buying up areas that are important for the protection of species
- Compensation of use restrictions for agriculture in case of use conflicts with species protection
THE PEOPLE BEHIND SOLyDAR CS
We are 3 shareholders of the SOLyDAR CS UG (haftungsbeschränkt). The company’s purpose is to broker and operate cloud services, including the operation of one or more staking pools on the Cardano-DLT-network (according to the Bundesbank not subject to approval).
At least 50% of the profits of our UG shall benefit ecological and social projects in El Salvador and Bavaria. We will fully disclose future profits and expenses and, if applicable, salary payments.

New to cardano (ADA)???
The Cardano-Network is based on a blockchain technology of the 3rd generation and aims to be a social blockchain platform.
- It is using Proof of Stake in contrast to Bitcoin, which is using Proof of Work
- Proof of Stake is an energy saving technology; Cardano consumes only about one 150,000th of the energy used in the Bitcoin network
- Proof of Stake is a more advanced technology; e.g. regarding capacities, scalability, ability for SmartContracts, interoperability
- It is a scientific technology, as every step in the development is peer-reviewed by academics
- It is defined by its community. Its governance model shows that true democracy is possible.
- It defines social goals and concretely pursues them; e.g. the goal of providing access to banking services, identity documents or education to large parts of the world’s currently disadvantaged population
